A copy of the child’s birth certificate and immunization record will be required upon enrolling. All students are required to meet the State of Michigan immunization requirements. A health appraisal form signed by your doctor is required prior to the first day of school. For students in Grades 1-8, his/her enrollment is conditional until a copy of the current report card is received and the principal approves his/her enrollment. Students entering Kindergarten must have a hearing and vision screening from the health department and submit documentation to the school before school starts.

Age Requirements

  • Preschool students: must be 3 yrs. old by September 1st.
  • Pre-Kindergarten students: must be 4 yrs. old by September 1st.
  • Kindergarten students: must be 5 yrs old by September 1st.
  • First grade students: must be 6 yrs old by September 1st.

Step 4: AOD Financial Aid and SJSTAP

Kindergarten through 8th grade families use the FACTS link provided below to apply for financial aid for the 2025-2026 school year.  You only need to fill out one application to be considered for both AOD and SJSTAP funds.


To be considered for AOD funding, you must apply and turn in the pastor signature form to the school office by February 28, 2025.


To be considered for first round SJSTAP funding you must use the same application process and apply by March 31, 2025. All late applications will be considered in the order they are received.

The Community Foundation of Monroe County has a scholarship opportunity for St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School students in grades (K-7) that is either a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish of Erie, MI for one year or has attended the school for one year. The deadline to apply for the 2025-2026 academic year is February 21, 2025.

The Mustard Seed Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2018 by Dan and Tammi Nester. Mustard Seed helps middle class, hardworking families send their children to Catholic grade school by providing scholarships to eligible families. The Foundation is shaping the hearts, minds and souls of the future through scholarships. Scholarships are available to Catholic students who will be in preschool through eighth grade for the 2025-2026 school year. 2025-2026 Scholarship applications are due April 15th, 2025.
